This little project was for an car collector in Avon, CT. The owner said “I just want this thing to look like the corporate hangar floors I flown from out of Hartford, CT!” I told him I had just the solution. We use alot of Tennant coatings (www.tennantco.com) for our automotive and aviation business. I find that the Tennant Eco-HPS100 High Gloss urethane topcoat yeilds the best gloss and also is super durable. My client picked the light grey color. Here is how we did the floor:
- First, We used the DiamaBrush concrete floor prep brushes with a Tennant 5700 floor scrubber to prepare the concrete for coating adhesion. This method is great becasue we do not have to use the large grinders and generator since a residential setting will not have the required power. Just pop on the brushes to the scrubber and away you go.
- We patches all the crack with a cabosil epoxy mixtured.
- We used the Eco-MPE epoxy primer. Installed by squeegee and then back rolled.
- Finally a coat of Tennant Eco-HPS was dipped and rolled out. We sprinkled some 60 mesh oxide in the urethane so the floor would not be too slippery.
Below is the end result! A hangar like floor in a residential setting and most important a happy customer!!!
