What is Epoxy Flooring?

Epoxy flooring is the latest and greatest flooring in the home and business improvement industry today. Epoxy flooring is comprised of multiple layers of epoxy – or resins and hardeners – and applied to a floor at a depth of two millimeters or more.

There are several different types of epoxy flooring depending on the type of area you are looking to cover. For example, mortar epoxy floors are the strongest epoxy flooring available, while terrazzo floors are popular in large spaces. Graveled epoxy floors are the most decorative, and have great anti-slipping qualities.

The beauty of epoxy flooring is its resistance to wear and tear and its ability to bond to almost any existing surface. Epoxy flooring is well known for its strength and durability, making it a popular choice for many high trafficked and high demand environments.

What are Epoxy Floor Coatings?

Epoxy floor coatings differ from epoxy flooring in the depth of application. Coatings are less than two millimeters in depth, while epoxy flooring is two millimeters or more. Epoxy floor coating is a viable solution for floors that are still in good shape, but are experiencing some normal wear and tear.

Concrete Polishing

Another popular option for floor finishing today is concrete polishing. This process involves using machinery to grind down the floor until it is smooth. An abrasive diamond-embedded material is then ground into the floor’s surface until it is glossy and shiny. Finally, a mixture is spread over your floor’s surface to make it strong and durable. Floor finishes range from mirror finishes to high gloss. With concrete polishing you can even add color, shape, and diversity to the finish in order to give your business just the look you desire.

Concrete polishing results in beautiful flooring and is a cost-effective option for many of our customers.
